About: Marissa Santos
Marissa has been in the teaching profession for over 20 years! For the academic year of 2021-22, she was recognized as the School Site Teacher of the Year at the Chula Vista Elementary School District in California. She is the recipient of four Readers’ Favorite 5-Star Reviews. She has recently been inspired to write a children’s book about friendship, love, and small acts of kindness. Raising a son who is a lover of anything construction themed, Marissa aims to help children cope when they are suffering loss and to help them build meaningful relationships. Marissa lives in California with her husband and toddler son. She loves spending time with family, being active outdoors, and inspiring youth to live to their fullest potential. Construction Connections
My book offers more of a narrative using a Construction Theme where vehicles form a friendship and learn coping skills based on true events. This is a story about how two construction vehicles develop a friendship, while suffering loss they discover ways to cope in a modern way.
